We can...

...let's do this

- Remove or at least greatly diminish dirt/rubbing

- Remove or at least greatly diminish pencil marks

- Remove or at least greatly diminish light amount of pen ink (possibly)

- Remove or at least greatly diminish light grime

- Remove or at least greatly diminish fingerprints

- Remove or at least greatly diminish printing stripes

- Remove stickers from covers as appropriate

- Remove tape residue from covers

- Fix warping in covers or entire books

- Fix waviness in covers or entire books

- Fix edge deformations or nicks along the edge (if not actual cuts)

- Fix puffy spines

- Fix spine rolls (even severe)

- Fix cover miswrap (depends on severity)

- Fix bent (non color-breaking) corners of covers or dogeared inner pages

- Fix indents caused by various things such as from fingernails, transfers to cover due to writing instrument used on paper on top of cover, pinpricks or ballpoint pens

- Work on fully newsprint paper books (like mail-ins such as Detective Comics 27 Oreo or Action Comics 1 Nestle Quik)

- Clean/press signed books, albeit with great care and caution. If you have any concern though, don't send to us

- Press modern/current books, including ones with digital insert pieces

- Clean/press books with inserts among the pages (such as mail-in tear-offs)

- Clean/press books with hologram insets in covers

- Clean/press books with embossed covers

- Clean/press prestige (square bound) books

- Push down extended staple tines

- Fix rusty staples (within reason, and our approach is with great caution, not using any metal devices to manipulate the staples. If rust has spread to pages next to the affected staple, we aren't able to clean that)

- Remove books from sealed polybags, clean the book, and remove any of those very common and annoying polybag seam indent lines the book may have

- Polish out faint scuffs or scratches in acrylic slabs

- Remove/minimize Newton's rings in acrylic slabs (depending on location and size)

- Break books out of slabs and clean/press

- *Fix or minimize most stains

- *Fix most water damage/tide lines

- *Fix soiling

- *Fix foxing

- *Fix yellowing

- *Fix tanning

- *Fix cream/tan/dark pages

We can't...

...unable to do it

- Fix color-breaking spine ticks

- Fix color-breaking creases

- Fix frayed corners

- Fix scratches which are dug into covers

- Fix cuts to covers or inner pages

- Fix holes, including the often occurring series of holes near bottom of inner pages due to printing process

- Fix bindery issues

- Remove significant amount of pen or sharpie ink

- Fix sunlight/UV damage

- Add missing cover gloss

- Repair cracks (even hairline) in acrylic slabs

- Repair broken acrylic slabs

We won't...

...nope not doing it

- Attempt to fix mold. We will not accept books which have mold. Moldy books are dangerous because mold can easily spread from the affected book to other books, potentially through an entire collection

- Directly attempt to fix rips or tears to covers or inner pages (sometimes they can at least be improved with a heat press)

- Press books with foil or acetate covers (unless a cold press is called for)

- Clean modern/current books with slick pages (except for light cleaning of white background areas)

- Add or remove a cover to/from a book

- Do anything restorative such as color retouch, usage of glue, staple cleaning/replacement, adding missing cutouts or pages, etc.

- Do anything deemed to be fraudulent or deceptive such as marrying/unmarrying anything to/from a book, adding cadaver pieces from another copy to touch up a cover or inner page, adding or altering signatures, creation of fake signatures or COAs, etc.

- Add, move, remove, or manipulate staples or their locations (except the minor effort of pushing down extended staple tines as appropriate)

- Replace missing staples

- Reattach detached covers

NOTE: Everything stated is meant in terms of "within reason". Sometimes the amount of damage to a book is overwhelming and the effort to fix it is insurmountable. Every book is unique and must be evaluated as such.

*These denote things that can be very difficult to tackle, so we'd have to discuss with you beforehand as to how extensive the problem is. The amount of time to fix these things are likely greatly increased as compared to more typical routine cleanings.
